Beckley, WV (WOAY)-Bluefield State University’s Associate Degree Nursing students are giving back to the community with a Health Fair and American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, November 4.
The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cross Point Church on Crescent Road in Beckley and is open to the public.
Attendees can take advantage of free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood glucose, vision, and hearing checks.
The Raleigh County Health Department will also offer flu shots, and the Red Cross will be on site for blood donations.
Representatives from Access Health, Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley ARH, and CAMC Plateau Medical Center will share information on community health resources, and local food trucks will be available with lunch options for purchase.
Bluefield State President Dr. Darrin Martin says the event gives nursing students a chance to apply their skills while serving the community.
No appointments are needed, and everyone is welcome to attend.
