Bluefield, WV (WOAY) – Bluefield baseball team announces new leadership.
According to a Facebook post, the Bluefield Ridge Runners have hired Garrett Schilling as the new General Manager.
Schilling has been with the team since 2016 and has been actively involved in the Appalachian League since 2021.
Schilling says in the post: I’m very grateful for the opportunity to continue the legacy of baseball and continue to grow the game in the two Virginias. This community accepted me 10 years ago when I moved from California to play at Bluefield College. Since then it has built me up and helped me grow personally, as well as my family. I hope to see you all at the ballpark this summer and Go Ridge Runners!
Schilling takes over the position following the retirement of Ridge Runners General Manager Rocky Malamisura who resigned in January.
The Ridge Runners open the season with a 3-game road trip to take on the Burlington Sock Puppets on June 3,4,5.
