Bluefield College puts their COVID-19 response protocols into effect after three employees tested positive

BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – A Local college has implemented its COVID-19 response protocols after three employees tested positive.

As a part of Bluefield College’s response protocols, the college purchased a rapid testing machine to be able to identify cases on campus quickly. The device can give results within 17 minutes.

“We hate that anyone has to go through this, it really allowed us to test our protocols for fall and make sure that they were in place and were working, and they were,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Joshua Cline. “The individuals that tested positive did the responsible thing by calling ahead before coming into the office and letting us know that they were exposed. Anyone that was around them previous days before was tested with the rapid testing machine that we have on campus. So we were able to discern that the exposure was just limited to one other individual.”
