Bluefield (WOAY) – The Bluefield Blue Jays hosted a doubleheader Saturday at Bowen field against the Danville Braves. It was a game between the second and third place team in the East Division of the Appalachian League.
In attendance for the games was Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. He answers questions about what minor league baseball means to communities and also threw out the first pitch of the second game.
Bluefield swept the doubleheader against the Danville Braves clinching the series win. Bluefield sits two games back from the Princeton Rays in the East Division.
