Bluefield, WV (WOAY)- The Bluefield Arts and Revitalization Corporation (BARC) is bringing new life to downtown with a special art exhibition.
Ten pieces by well-known bluefield artist Gary Bowling are on display for the public.
A public reception will be held Friday, May 2, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Raleigh Street Cinemas to celebrate local art and regional history.
The artworks are on loan from WVU Medicine, Princeton Community Hospital (PCH).
The works were originally part of Bluefield Regional Medical Center’s regional art collection.
When the hospital closed, the collection transferred to PCH, where the paintings have been preserved ever since.
Now, through a new partnership between PCH and BARC, this selection is being shared with the community once again.
