Bluefield, WV (WOAY) The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Bluefield has named its first Chief Executive Officer.
The organization’s Board of Directors has unanimously selected Bill Garrett for the position.
Garrett is a West Virginia native with more than 30 years of experience in youth leadership and executive management.
He spent much of his career with the Boy Scouts of America, where he helped organizations grow and develop high-performing teams.
He’s also been involved in community service, including coaching youth sports, founding community coalitions and serving on United Way and chamber of commerce boards.
Garrett says he’s honored to return home and work with the community to help every young person reach their full potential.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Bluefield says its goal is to create a lasting, measurable impact throughout Mercer and Tazewell counties by serving more youth and families and developing programs that meet the community’s changing needs.
