Big Warm-Up On Tap Brings Rain

We have a few systems to keep close eyes on for potential impacts to Southern West Virginia. The first one looks to sweep through the region Saturday morning into early Saturday afternoon. Models are disagreeing heavily on the exact track of this system, so impacts are still unknown. It could either bring rain to the Southern Coalfields, or miss the state completely.

The most likely chance for measurable rainfall looks to come Wednesday into Thursday, then into Friday as a large system from the west makes its presence felt here. Widespread rain looks a lot more likely from mid to late-week, than this little system on Saturday. Temperatures will be above freezing, so wintry precipitation will not be a risk.

Speaking of temperatures, here is a look at that 7 day forecast. We get a lot more sun Sunday and Monday than we’ve been seeing recently, before we get the clouds back by Tuesday in preparation for the storm system. Wednesday and Thursday both look to feature rain as temperatures soar into the mid 50’s for most people!
