Biafore reelected as chair of West Virginia Democrats

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Belinda Biafore has been reelected as the chairwoman of the West Virginia Democratic Party, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

The party’s executive committee has also elected former West Virginia Young Democrats president Rod Snyder as vice chairman and Kanawha County Del. Andrew Byrd second vice chairman. The terms are two years long.

“Now more than ever we need to unify everyone in our party to ensure victory in November and beyond,” said Biafore, who was first elected as party chairwoman in 2016.

Republicans control the governor’s office and have majorities in both chambers of the state legislature.
