RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Bex kicked off its 7th annual art festival with a ribbon cutting in Word Park, celebrating the artistic talent of Sharol Batey and her new mosaic mural.
“I just knew she would be the right choice to make a beautiful piece,” said President of Bex Arts/Bex Art Festival Saja Montague.
Batey thanked Montague for writing a West Virginia Division of Culture and Arts grant and the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce Foundation for their project support.
Michelle Rotellini said it’s important that a community has an arts culture.
“To provide an enhanced quality of living, and keep our young people interested in living here,” she said.
And she offered congratulations…
“On what you guys have built, it’s really amazing,” she told Montague.
