GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – AJ Sloan went missing under suspicious circumstances in Greenbrier County on November 26, 2024.
His sister Amber Kidd shared the heartbreaking news that on the morning of May 3, 2025, AJ was found deceased.
She can’t provide further details, as this remains an open investigation.
The family kindly asks for privacy as they navigate this devastating time.
“It’s deep sorrow, deep heartbreak, a lot of confusion. We were definitely hoping for a different outcome than this,” Kidd said. “But I would say we’re heartbroken. Being up there, knowing we found him, brought a lot of relief for me personally because this went on for so long, and the not knowing was the worst part for our family.”
Kidd calls it seriously traumatic.
“Honestly, for me and mine and AJ’s dad,” she said.
They finally feel able to give AJ a proper burial and service.
