Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Fridays in the Park, the 34-year-old popular summer concert music series, has kicked off in Beckley’s Word Park.
The weekly event offers live music from local artists, food trucks, and great lunchtime vibes.
Enjoy through August 29th.
“A tradition in downtown Beckley, it’s summertime on Fridays to come out during your lunch hour between 11:30 and 1pm. We have free music concerts and a food truck or two,” said Beckley Events Director Jill Moorefield.
According to Moorefield, as school lets out, organizations may set up crafts/kids’, and other enjoyable summertime activities.
“Originally, it was organized for people who work downtown, a chance for them to socialize during their lunch hour,” she said. “And we turned it into something that showcases a lot of local talent. It’s a great thing for our community.”
