Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Winter is coming, but so is the Beckley Warming Center.
However, they need volunteers.
United Way of Southern West Virginia and the Beckley Community Methodist Church will provide training for volunteers helping the Beckley Warming Center.
Training will be held in the church fellowship hall, 217 South Heber Street in Beckley, on Tuesday, November 18, at 6 p.m.
Shifts for Volunteers on warming center nights are:
- 8 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- 12 a.m. – 4 a.m.
- 4 a.m. – 8 a.m.
During these shifts, they will prepare food and gather supplies needed.
The Beckley Warming Center will open in the fellowship hall of the Beckley Community United Methodist Church when the overnight weather, including wind chill, reaches 15 degrees.
