Beckley, West Virginia (WOAY)—The Red Cross is teaming up with another local organization to address the constant need for blood donations.
Beckley VAMC will host a blood drive on Tuesday, April 8, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Red Cross has been attempting to recover its national blood inventory, which decreased by 25 percent last summer due to severe weather events.
To encourage donations, when donors come to give blood, platelets, or AB elite plasma in April, the Red Cross will automatically enter them for a chance to win a $5,000 gift card.
There will be three lucky winners.
Also, those who donate from April 1 – 13 will earn a $15 digital Amazon gift card.
