BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Beckley VAMC has recently dedicated its employee fitness center to a former whole health coordinator.
The fitness center has existed since 2011, but it was dedicated to Sherry Richardson upon moving to a new building in March.
“One of the first things in the planning was I asked if we could dedicate it to Sherry when we got everything up and running,” said Beckley VA Medical Center Physical Therapist Assistant Amanda Miller. “It was an immediate ‘yes’ from the administration.”
Richardson always strove to give employees a bigger and better fitness facility.
“She was real dedicated and determined to get this facility up and running,” said Support Assistant Supervisor and Sherry Richardson’s son JT Richardson. “It just means a lot that she meant so much to the staff that continued her dream.”
Sherry Richardson felt that if she could provide a healthy mental and physical environment for the VAMC staff, they would in turn provide better care for their veterans.
