Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The BSB (Beckley Sanitary Board) is advising residents and visitors of the temporary closure of Ewart Avenue for utility repairs.
According to a media release, Ewart Avenue will be closed starting Monday October 6, 2025, in front of the Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley. The BSB will be completing replacement of the storm sewer below the roadway and work is estimated to be complete by October 10, 2025.
The road closure will impact all through traffic between the intersections of Adair Street and at the entrance of the Exhibition Coal Mine/Youth Museum. Local residents will have complete access to their properties at all times but due to temporary disruptions drivers are asked to seek alternate routes.
The BSB plans be rerouting traffic via Exhibition Coal Mine Road and Adair Street. Drivers are asked to pay attention to posted signage, obey speed limits and plan their routes and travel times accordingly.
