Beckley Salvation Army Corp receives donation to help better serve area kids

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – A national, charitable organization that serves the Beckley area by giving back to people in need found itself on the receiving end.

Thanks to generous donors, the Beckley Salvation Army Corp received equipment to improve the services they provide to kids in the community.

Volunteers installed portable basketball goals and volleyball nets in the Salvation Army gymnasium to serve kids attending camps.

The newly installed equipment will help grow the recreation program and teach the kids sports fundamentals. The Salvation Army’s next sports clinic for kids is coming up at the end of March.

Sports and Recreation Director, Brian Nabors said, “We have a camp taking place on March 29th for boys and girls. Feel free to go online and sign up. It’s only 25 dollars per kid. It will be a great clinic on fundamental basketball with great instructors that will be taking place. So on March 29th is when that will take place.”
