BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Downtown Beckley has a new indoor holiday market with the goal of bringing shoppers and business back to Main Street.
Located at 101 Main Street, the Beckley Pop-Up Holiday Market offers everything from hand-crafted artisan jewelry to fresh baked goods.
“There’s a lot of staple ingredients that people need, a lot of pampering products, beautiful woodworking… there’s still several artists in here, even some antiques, comic books, records,” said market organizer Sarah Carter. “It’s just… there’s a great variety up here.”
Carter says too many residents head out of town to the big chain stores, and the market is out to change that.
“Downtown is somewhere where people think you can’t do business anymore,” Carter said. “And I think we’re going to prove them wrong and get business back up here.”
