Beckley Police K9 Ora retires

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Police Department is announcing the retirement of one of their own.

According to a press release, after over eight years of dedicated service to the community under the guidance of her handler Sergeant Capehart, K9 Ora will retire.

Deputy Police Chief David Allard says, “K9 Ora has been an invaluable asset to our department. Throughout her career, her assistance has led to hundreds of arrests, the seizure of over 1.5 million dollars’ worth of drugs, and the recovery of hundreds of illegally possessed firearms.”

The Beckley Police Department extends its deepest gratitude to K9 Ora for her years of faithful service. She will spend her well-deserved retirement with her devoted handler, Sergeant Capehart.

K9 Ora has served the citizens of Beckley since November of 2016.
