Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Police Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to host the second annual Battle of the Badges community blood drive on November 24.
The Red Cross reports the U.S. blood supply has reached critically low levels and that donations have decreased nearly 25 percent since August.
The nonprofit now asks schools, businesses, and other organizations to bring back blood drives and help combat the shortage.
The event is open to the public and will be held at the Beckley Police Department classroom at 501 Neville Street from 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m.
