Beckley Police arrest two Ohio men on multiple drug charges following a routine traffic stop

Beckley, WV (WOAY) Two Ohio men arrested during a traffic stop in Beckley are facing several drug charges.

The Beckley Police Department reports that at 1:38 a.m. this morning, PFC Brown and PFC Cline stopped a speeding Chrysler Pacifica with New York registration on the 1900 block of Harper Road.

After stopping the vehicle, PFC Cline and his K9 partner Vito conducted a run around the outside of the vehicle.

K9 Vito detected the presence of narcotics during the preliminary search.

A subsequent search of the driver, passenger, and vehicle resulted in officers finding 445.36 grams of fentanyl, a small quantity of cocaine, and $3,500 in cash.

Beckley Police report that the quantity of fentanyl was enough to kill more than 225,000 people, with an estimated street value of approximately $90,000.

The driver, identified as 44-year-old Andy Gray Jr., and the passenger, 54-year-old Cornell Alquist Stevenson, both from Cleveland, Ohio, now face multiple drug-related offenses.

They await further court proceedings at Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 cash bond for each of them.
