Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Beckley Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred on December 10.
According to a Beckley Police Department press release, on December 14, around 11:45 pm, authorities arrested 18-year-old Marquest Fortune at his home.
Fortune faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and seven counts of wanton endangerment.
On December 10, around 1:20 am, officers responded to a shots fired call on the 200 block of Clyde Street.
Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, identified as 20-year-old Traysouan Robertson, suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Emergency services responded to the incident and attempted life-saving measures, but Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene.
