Beckley Newspapers debuts new SWV photographers photo exhibit

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – A new photo exhibit featuring several well-known Southern West Virginia photographers is on display in the lobby of Beckley Newspapers.

There are photos of wildlife, children, landscapes, news, and more.

Between all six photographers, including Steven Wayne Rotsch, Carla Parent Rotsch, Ed Rehbein, Tim Tilley, Andrea Martin, and Rick Barbero, there is something special: 160 years of experience gracing those walls.

“It means a lot, especially with these guys that are part of this exhibit, they’re all close friends of mine,” said Barbero. “We can all get ideas from each other (since) it’s different types of photography that they do.”

According to the chief photographer, it’s exciting to be able to collaborate with some of the local best photographers we have in this area.

“A couple hail from Charleston, too. One was the governor’s photographer, and his wife is from Beckley,” Barbero said he told them there was no particular theme. “Just display some of your best stuff, and we’ll mix it in with everybody else’s. It turned out really nice with the variety that we have.”
