Beckley Fire Department decommissions Eisenhower Drive station

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Fire Department decommissioned its station on Eisenhower Drive today.

The Eisenhower Drive station was open for 46 years. Beginning at 8:00, the department’s Honor Guard lowered the flag on the former station.

“They will fold that flag, as they do in military fashion,” said Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold. “They will take that flag to the new fire station off of Z-way there for the dedication of the new station.”

That dedication took place this morning at 9:00 a.m.
