BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The newly elected Beckley City Council Members were sworn in on Tuesday. Several of the council members were re-elected to serve another term; however, there were also some new faces to be sworn in as well.
One of the new members was Robert Dunlap, who was elected to serve as the Councilman for Ward Three.
“The election was tough because no one had ever been in an election quite like this where you couldn’t get out, you couldn’t shake hands, you couldn’t meet your common person,” Said Robert Dunlap. “So it made us be required to be a little more dynamic to find out what people want, but I’m thrilled to be able to serve my ward.”
Another new member sworn in is Cody Reedy, who was elected as Councilman at Large. “The main thing I want to do is work on infrastructure and try to get the community coming together, cut out a lot of the spending, and stuff like that. That’s my biggest thing.” Said Cody Reedy.
Both councilmen are excited to get to work for the city of Beckley.
