BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Yesterday it was announced that Beckley will be canceling multiple Halloween traditions this year due to COVID-19.
Trunk or Treat, held every year at Beckley Intermodal Gateway, has been canceled, along with trick-or-treating in the city. The hours for Halloween are announced every year ahead of time, however, those hours won’t be published this year.
“We encourage any civic or church group who may like to sponsor a safe, we call it a drive-through, Halloween, or something similar to that,” said Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold. “Contact with residents and contact among and with the trick-or-treaters wouldn’t be an issue.”
Rappold is hopeful that all events and traditions will be back next year in full capacity.
