Beckley Babe Ruth 14s on their way to regionals, received check from Chick-fil-A

For Chick-fil-A, it’s all about giving back.

“We’re excited about being a part of this team getting to go to regionals,” said Kellie Young, marketing director.

Outfielder Evan Tyre is happy to travel and will always remember this experience with his teammates.

“Very happy that we’re going to Washington and that we can win,” Tyre said. “If we win this next one I think we get to go to the World Series and that would be really cool.”

Coach Robert Williams says this win makes them so proud and there is so much talent on the team.

“Interesting thing about Babe Ruth is it kind of brings them all together and the they’ve all been playing together for years,” said Williams. “It’s really cool to see them all come together and have the opportunity to go to regionals.”

Chick-fil-A sold cookies (on Tuesday), raising $574 and a portion of the proceeds helped the team get to regionals.

“We really care about our community and want to be a part of others succeeding,” Young said.
