BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Arts Museum has added a new bilingual exhibit that teaches visitors about the brain development of children.
The exhibit, called AlegreMENTE | Happy Brain: Celebrating Early Connections, is in both Spanish and English, and features interactive elements including a light-up tilt table, a dance studio, storytelling games, and a creative area.
“Since strong, positive relationships and interactions with caregivers and parents are the most important part of early brain building, the developers focused on how to make the exhibition inviting for all ages,” said Wendy Howerton, Program Specialist for the Youth Museum. “In particular, they wanted to provide a lot of opportunities for grownups to interact with their young children.”
The exhibit was developed by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
The museum is also holding Toddler Tuesday Art Days on March 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration for those classes is required, and details can be found on our website.
