RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Art Center is kicking off 2025 with intention and new beginnings.
Join them for ‘Manifest Your Magic: Create Your Visionboard’ on Saturday, Dec. 28th, from noon to 3 p.m. This is an opportunity to get creative.
“Everybody makes New Year’s resolutions. A vision board is a physical manifestation of a resolution,” said Director Sandy Shaw. “You know — actions, words, and deeds. If you think something, you’re willing it. But if you create something, it’s more of an intention.”
It is possible to make your dreams a reality. Well, that and hard work. Here’s how to create a vision board for manifestation…
Consider if it has to be written or visual. You’ll have the chance to explore a little bit of everything.
“My intention with this workshop and offering it to the community is to give people a safe space to explore art,” said BAC Programming Partner and Teaching Artist Sydney Rosenberg. “To get creative with ‘what are the goals I have.’ I hope we’ll also reflect on the new year and process our work together.”
Shaw has created vision boards before and says it helps to set a goal, in this case, whatever comes up thinking about what you want to achieve in 2025. She encourages everyone to bring some of their own images.
“We will have magazines and images to work from. But if there is something specific they want to manifest or create for this year,” the director said. “And it’s completely personal to each individual.”
According to Rosenberg; art is the coolest way to communicate, build confidence, and express yourself. It’s great to have an event like this to take time to self-reflect.
“The hustle of the new year and the holidays, (it’s tough) to carve out time for themselves to settle down and have that mindfulness and set the intention,” said the teaching artist.
