Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Today is the last day of recovery month, which celebrates individuals in recovery and raises awareness of mental health and substance use support.
On this last day of September, Beckley ARH Hospital hosted an inaugural recovery rally to top the month off.
The plan was to bring awareness, support recovery, and share community resources.
Organizations from all over the state were in attendance, including treatment centers and guest speakers. Narcan was available as well as other resources.
A total of 49 organizations registered, and only four or five couldn’t attend.
Admitting one has a problem is usually the first step to recovery as well as being the most difficult. It is encouraging to see the community rally in support of those facing a challenging reality.
