Beavers Ready for Super Six Return

Bluefield, WV (WOAY) – Hear from Bluefield head coach Fred Simon and senior Deiyantei Powell-Woods as the Beavers prepare for the Class AA state championship against Fairmont Senior.

Friday’s meeting at Wheeling Island Stadium will be a rematch of last year’s title game, which Bluefield rallied to win 29-26. The team is expecting another close game, but are positive of a good result following the 35-14 semifinal win over Bridgeport.

The Beavers enter the Super Six 12-1, having scored an average of 42 points per game in the postseason; the Polar Bears, by comparison, are 13-0, with an average of over 60 points per game in the playoffs.

Bluefield-Fairmont Senior is the only state championship game to be played on Friday. Martinsburg-Spring Valley & Wheeling Central-Williamstown will both be held on Saturday.
