Bolt, WV (WOAY)—The Beckley Raleigh County Health Department reports a bat has tested positive for rabies.
The animal was discovered in the Bolt area and taken for testing.
The county health department is advising residents to vaccinate their pets, teach kids to avoid wild animals, never feed strays, and avoid direct contact with sick or dead animals.
If you or your pets come into contact with or locate a bat or any animal acting suspiciously, seek medical care and notify officials immediately.
