SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – In the fight against COVID-19, storage sheds usually don’t come to your mind. But one local Summersville man, who owns a storage shed company has loaned several sheds to help assist with outdoor testing.

Craig Chapman is the owner of Backyard outfitters. In the fight against COVID-19, many people have donated food, money, and masks. Chapman has added to that list and has loaned his sheds to local medical facilities to use for outdoor testing.

“A couple of weeks ago it was very windy and it was right after church and a friend of mine Tony Woods called and said, hey look they’re up at the hospital they got these outside tents to do the COVID-19 testing for people drive-thru and they literally can’t keep their tents set up, the wind is just blowing them down.”

In the past few weeks, The shed company has donated several sheds Throughout the county. Chapman says they have loaned their sheds to the community before but never under circumstances like this.

“It got them out of the elements, you know what I mean? It got the nurses and the people that were doing the testing out of the elements. They got heat in the building now, they got, you know, there’s no wind it went from being a 0 to a 10 in their perspectives.”

Backyard Outfitters is scheduled to deliver more sheds to local clinics.
