Beckley, WV (WOAY) January marks National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and Sunday, January 11, honors National Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
Advocating A Way for Adults and Youth (AWAY, formerly the Women’s Resource Center) is dedicated to advocating for survivors.
The organization provides resources to empower communities with the necessary information to identify and help prevent human trafficking.
AWAY is urging everyone to show their support for the cause on Sunday by wearing blue in solidarity.
The organization is encouraging those who participate to send photos to them by either messaging the AWAY Facebook page or emailing them to ssizemore.awaywv@gmail.com
