Summersville, WV (WOAY)- A Nicholas County man is in custody, accused of fatally shooting a man
According to a state police statement on Wednesday, September 11, around 7:19 pm, Nicholas County 911 responded to a call reporting an individual had been shot at the Beaver Lake Campground in Calvin.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered 69-year-old Joseph Tanner of Summersville lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.
Tanner was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect, 59-year-old Cliff Salisbury of Mount Nebo, had reportedly been carrying a rifle around the area.
State troopers located and arrested Salisbury with no incident.
