Attorney General JB McCuskey announces $45 million multistate settlement with Block Inc.

Charleston, WV (WOAY) West Virginia consumers could benefit from a multistate settlement involving Cash App.

Attorney General JB McCuskey announced a $45 million agreement with Block Incorporated, the company behind Cash App, over allegations it misled users about the app’s security and failed to protect customers from fraud properly.
Under the settlement, Block must improve customer support, investigate fraud claims, reimburse eligible victims, and stop marketing practices that increase scams.
West Virginia will receive more than $363,000 as part of the agreement.
