Athens, WV (WOAY) The Athens-Concord Town Social is set to continue its longtime summer tradition this Sunday, August 23, at Concord University.
The event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the university’s front lawn, with 64 vendors expected to take part.
There will be food, artisans, community organizations, businesses and school groups, along with live music and awards recognizing community accomplishments.
The Pubknockers will perform beginning at 1:15, with awards and scholarships tentatively scheduled for 2:30.
The popular Town Social Car Show will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring awards including Mechanics’ Pick and President’s Pick.
The Allen Smith Band will close out the afternoon.
Organizers are inviting families, friends, and neighbors to come out and enjoy the festivities Sunday at Concord University.
