Gauley Bridge, WV (WOAY)- Early on Saturday, September 6, deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Gauley River Road in Gauley Bridge.
This incident was in regard to a motor vehicle accident, possibly related to a 911 hang-up.
Deputies found a male and female in a truck on the side of the road, along with an empty vehicle in the roadway.
After investigation, deputies determined the incident involved an ongoing, days-long domestic situation in which a domestic violence order was in place.
The victim reported multiple threats and assaults that included strangulation, being hit, as well as being threatened with a knife and a loaded firearm.
Caleb Morris of Gauley Bridge was arrested and charged with multiple misdemeanors and two felony charges.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is reminding everyone that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
