Nitro, WV (WOAY) An arrest has been made in connection with the recent fatal shooting in a Kanawha County Walmart parking lot.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 54-year-old Dewayne Richmond on first-degree murder charges.
Richmond is accused of shooting and killing the mother of his children, 40-year-old Misty Rose Williams, who was discovered deceased in her vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.
Williams was an employee at the Nitro Walmart and had gone to her car to take her break.
Co-workers went to check on her when she did not return, discovering her slumped over in the vehicle.
Investigators identified Richmond as a suspect after reviewing the store’s surveillance footage.
Authorities report that Richmond is scheduled to be arraigned today in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, and he awaits further court proceedings in South Central Regional Jail.
