Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Appalachian Regional Hospital is hosting a monthly diabetes support group in Beckley.
The hour-long meeting occurs on the last Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM at the Raleigh County Commission on Aging on 1614 South Kanawha Street.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 29th.
Ashley Webb, ARH Systems Diabetes Coordinator, says the group is open to anyone but will be targeted specifically to those living with diabetes and prediabetes as well as their caregivers.
Webb and guest speakers will focus on topics including sleep quality, eating on a budget, carbohydrate counting, and portion control.
Each meeting will also include healthy recipes, cooking tips, and dishes to sample.
