OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – If you feel anxious cooped up at home, there’s still plenty you can do with your own yard.
Many activities exist that people can do while at home, one of which being gardening. National Gardening Day is meant to encourage people to take up the hobby and learn something new.
Terri Johnson at the Honeysuckle Hill Nature Discovery Center says she is hopeful people will take up the hobby and get outside if they feel anxious while staying home.
“Well it gets your mind off of the current situation. And then the bees are even starting to move and lots of insects. And that’s just a way to get outside and get your kids engaged in what’s around them,” Johnson said.
And even if you don’t have much of a yard, there’s still plenty of indoor gardening techniques you can try out.
