West Virginia (WOAY)- Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area (AFNHA) is now accepting applications from partners seeking AmeriCorps support for eligible projects.
Qualifying projects must align with AFNHA themes and missions and be scheduled between September 2025 and August 2026.
Full-time slots are available for one-year positions starting September 3. Â
Non-profit organizations or government agencies may apply to host project-based positions supporting asset improvement or educational stewardship related to environmental conservation, community development, and/or cultural heritage. Â
The AFNHAÂ conserves, interprets, and promotes forest heritage to enhance landscapes and communities in the highlands of West Virginia and Maryland. Â
AFNHA covers 16 counties in West Virginia, including Greenbrier, Nicholas, and Pocahontas.
