Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) A free Thanksgiving meal is returning to Fayette County this year, with a major change to how meals will be distributed.
The 24th annual Community Thanksgiving Meal will be held Thanksgiving Day on November 26.
Organizers say they will prepare 4,000 meals, which will be distributed at nine locations throughout the area.
This year, there will be no individual call-in orders for fewer than 12 meals.
Instead, people can simply visit one of the distribution sites on Thanksgiving Day and pick up as many meals as they need, on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Anyone needing 12 or more meals must pre-order by October 31 by calling 681-688-4128.
Distribution begins at 10:30 at several locations, including the Lewis Christian Community Center in Oak Hill, serving as the main site.
Other locations include Smithers, Kincaid, Beards Fork, Pax, Gauley Bridge, Mount Hope, Ansted, and Meadow Bridge.
Anyone interested in donating or volunteering can call 304-382-1421 or reach out to the Free Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal on Facebook.
