West Virginia (CNN)- Anker has recalled nearly 70,000 lithium-ion battery-powered blue-tooth speakers due to a fire hazard.
The speakers were sold exclusively on Amazon in 2023.
The recall covers lithium-ion battery packs in certain models of Anker sound-core blue-tooth speakers.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the lithium-ion batteries in the speakers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Consumers should dispose of recalled lithium-ion batteries under local and state ordinances.
They shouldn’t be thrown in the trash or used battery recycling boxes.
Anker will provide a free replacement speaker.
The firm received 33 reports of incidents involving the lithium-ion batteries in the speakers overheating.
There was one report of a minor burn injury in connection with an overheating unit.
