At 4pm today, the National Weather Service issues an Air Quality Alert for the southern region of West Virginia, including Fayette, Raleigh, Wyoming, and McDowell counties. This is a Code Orange alert, meaning air conditions may be unhealthy for sensitive groups. If you are sensitive to the smoke, minimizing outdoor activity will minimize the effects of the current air pollution. This alert is in effect until Saturday night.
