Additional home damage that may be covered by FEMA

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided over $4 billion to Region 3 states and the District of Columbia for costs related to saving lives and protecting communities from COVID-19.

Charleston, WV (WOAY) – Typically when applying for disaster assistance homeowners make claims on damages to their property such as roofs or floors. There are other parts of residences or private property’s that may be repaired or replaced under FEMA programs.

Furnaces, septic systems, damage to private roads or bridges or private wells that have sustained damage may be covered by financial assistance by FEMA.

If your primary residence was damaged by the floods of February 15, 2025, and you live in Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo or Wyoming county you may be eligible to apply. Monday April 28, 2025, is the deadline to apply for individual assistance.

When filling out your paperwork be sure to include damage to your furnaces, septic systems, private roads, bridges or private wells.
