Beckley, WV (WOAY) Runners are getting ready to hit the road for the 2026 Beckley Half Marathon and 5K.
Active Southern West Virginia will host the race on September 26, starting and finishing at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine.
The half marathon begins at 8:00 a.m., with the 5k starting at 8:30 a.m.
The half marathon course takes runners along the rail trail and through uptown Beckley, while the 5k offers an out-and-back course for runners and walkers of all levels.
Kids ages 12 and under can run the 5k for free.
Participants who sign up by Sunday, September 6 will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
All walkers and runners will get a finisher medal, with age-group awards also available.
After the race, participants can refuel with bean soup, cornbread, and West Virginia pepperoni rolls.
Active SWV is also still seeking volunteers to help out with the event.
