WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Watch out for standing water, loud thunder and lots of lightning with a few storms this evening and then Debby heads our way.
Quick recap:
WHAT TO EXPECT: The late day storms will dissipate and we will have a clear sky with patchy fog overnight. Much of Thursday will be dry with gusts to 25 mph and then we cloud up and get downpours after 4 p.m. Much of the overnight will see steady moderate to heavy rain, flooding and a breezy wind. Poor drainage areas will flood. Rivers, creeks and streams will rise, and those smaller waterways will overflow onto roads. Leaves in many spots will come down thanks to the drought-stressed trees. Rain will end between 8 a.m. and Noon Friday, the northwest breeze will pick up with gusts to 30 mph and we will see the sun between clouds. The remainder of the weather forecast will be quiet, dry and cooler.
