Access Health now allowing patients to wait in cars to limit exposure

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Access Health, a healthcare provider for Southern West Virginia, has an 11-step plan in place in regards to the coronavirus outbreak.

One big component of this was launched on Tuesday as patients can now wait to see their providers from their car.

Patients have the option to come, check in and then go back outside to wait. The clinic is hoping this will limit any kind of exposure.

“Then we can call them and have them come in, and they can call through our call center and actually start engaging from it through that side also,” CEO Charles Hunt said.

Last year, Access Health saw around 45,000 patients statewide.
