BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- Academy Sports + Outdoors is coming to Southern West Virginia. They are excited to open their second store in our state right here in Beckley.
“So, Beckley, West Virginia seems like an ideal location for Academy because we are everything sports and outdoors. This really is a little hidden piece of Paradise, to be honest,” said Brianna Woolever, store director Academy Sports and Outdoors in Beckley. “There’s so much camping, hiking, the schools out here play sports and really is just one-stop destination for everything sports and outdoors. This is a great place to be, to be honest. ”
Their grand opening will be Friday, September 13th. Throughout the store, they will have opening weekend deals.
“The nice thing about Academy, what we really pride ourselves in is, being like an everyday value customer. We’re all about saving our customers money,” said Woolever.
They will be hosting kids from the YMCA of Southern West Virginia and donating $5,000 to them.
“On Thursday, we are doing a give back with the YMCA of Southern West Virginia, where we’re going to have between 20 and 25 kids come out,” explain Woolever. “We’ll have gift cards for the kids. They’ll get the opportunity to shop before, our grand opening, celebration on Friday. But it’s just our way to let the community know one of our values at academy is community involvement. And whatever we can do to help people. That’s really what we strive for. ”
The remaining money will go to the YMCA. They are excited to come to Beckley and hope to see many of you there.
They will have a friends and family night on Sunday September 8th from 5-9pm. Guests can text MVP368 to 22369 and receive 20% off purchases between September 8-11th.
