Absentee ballot applications used as a safer option for voters

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Secretary State’s office sent out absentee ballot applications statewide as a safer option to vote this primary election due to COVID-19.

Voters can complete the form and return it to their local county clerk’s office stating that they prefer to vote from the safety of their own home. If the application is filled out and returned you cannot vote in person.

“There are some people who think that you have to vote absentee this time and that is not the case at all. Everybody in the precinct will be open for early voting as they have in the past. And for election day on June 9th as well. This is merely a safe option to vote and not have to go out to the poll,” said Wyoming County Clerk Jewell Aguilar.

The deadline to turn in your absentee ballot application is June 3rd.
